i was playing a cpu intensive game and my temp reached 90, i have a i7 7700k and would like to know if it could damage my pc. thanks

Solution

Lol well thats your problem, the cold plate is not making full contact with the cpu. No way te 7700k should be running that hot with that water cooler, espcially at stock clocks. Find that screw or get another one.

If you're reaching 90c while gaming you'll probably hit 100c+ while running 100% load. Which cooler are you using?

and as a rough guide i just installed a 7700k today actually tweaking about with it now

at 5ghz with avx -2 offset

max i have seen yet--not using prime95 or anything just fully loading it running a ton of stuff as still slowly lowering the voltage to find the lowest its stable

for 5ghz is 70c with custom watercooling

Exactly it. It's like installing a stock heatsink and you miss a pushpin. Temps will be in the 90's.
