my i7 6700k is water cooled temps under a benchmarking load at peak get to around 70c to 74c topps. I heard and read that this is normal and the max temp on this cpu can reach above 100c. oh my idle temps are around 24c-28c anyways just checking to see what everyone here thinks.

74c is fine especially under stress testing loads. If it reaches 90-100c you've got cooling issues. Sort of like the red zone on a car's temp gauge, it's a warning rather than a goal.
