Parts list:

mobo: Asus z170-ar
cpu: intel i7 6700k
cooler: nzxt kraken x62
psu: seasonic km3 650w
memory: intel 600p series m.2 256gb
ram: tridentz rgb 3200 16gb
gpu: galax hof 1070

Newly built pc. Went into bios and stated the cpu was over heating to 80C. It started off at around 30C and went up gradually to 80C just being in the bios setting and not doing anything in about 2minutes. Everything is connected correctly or should be. This occured prior to installing the gpu.

it doesnt seem to be loose at all. It seems as though heat is not being transferred from the CPU.

The Thermal paste has been squished properly, but the problem seemed to be a faulty cooler bracket causing the cooler to not be sitting firmly on top of CPU. Waiting for NZXT customer support, but it seems to me that they are having internal problems with their customer support and have yet to send me a replacement.
