To begin with, here are the specs of my computer

AMD FX-8120 3.1 GHz Processor
16 GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance LP
Sapphire R7 370
Sapphire HD 7850
Corsair CS750M Power Supply
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 Mobo

So I realized my R7 370 and my wife's HD 7850 both had the same architecture, therefore crossfire should be just fine right? Wrong. When I first installed the HD 7850 into my build, the AMD Crimson drivers and AMD Radeon settings went bezerk. Display was flashing, the settings wouldn't open, etc. Installed the cards one at a time, and made sure the drivers were properly installed. Once I got the computer to be stable with both graphics cards, I added the crossfire bridge between them. I go into settings, and the option for crossfire is there, but will not allow me to enable it because it says "The internal bridge interconnect is not connected", even though it definitely is. Tried switching cards to different PCIe ports, same problem. Now, all of a sudden AMD Radeon settings won't even open or show up in my system tray. I am at a loss. Ideas?
