So I pulled a rookie mistake the other day. I was moving the fan locations in the case with everything powered on and I dropped one of the little nuts to hold the fan to the side of the case. It landed on the graphics card causing an arc. Now when I power on the desktop everything sounds fine. Lights come on, fans power up, even fans and lights on graphics card seem fine. But I have no display going to my HDMI monitor.. I wonder if my motherboard is gone as well ( assuming my graphics card is fried? ) because once I power everything on, my accessories such as mouse, keyboard and game pad are unresponsive and do not light up

Solution
Remove the card, does the system work fine? If not, then it's likely a dead motherboard. You can try resetting the BIOS also to defaults with the jumper, that may work. Once system works (or not), then you can try it with the video card in again.
