I want to buy graphics card, its either MSI gtx 1060 or MSI RX 480.
RX 480 is getting better and better with new drivers, even in Directx 11 games. So naturally 480 is better choice.
But I am worried about issues with amd cards like heating, pulling extra power, crashes. Many people said that AMD have a lot of issues.

I am NVIDIA user since last 6 years and I never faced any problem till Now.

So My questions are
- What are problems with MSI RX 480?
- How much 480 will get better than 1060?
- If I buy MSI GTX 1060, will it be similar to 480 for next 2 years?

consider following
- 1060 price is lower than 480 where I stay
- I also use adobe softwares a like photoshop, after effect, illustrator
- I am .net application developer and will start developing games soon

Solution
I own a Sapphire Nitro+ Rx 480.

I haven't encountered any issues. The performance is great, card is cool and quiet.

If you can get a GTX 1060 for a lower price, I would recommend you do so. This is because CUDA-based acceleration is often much more mature than OpenCL implementations, so you'll likely get better results with GPU acceleration in After Effects (I'm unaware if Photoshop and Illustrator support GPU acceleration for image exports).

The impact on development will be minimal. I guess if you plan on messing around with Asynchronous Compute either via the Vulkan or DirectX 12 API you could squeeze more performance out of an AMD card, but as is evident from the implementation of Vulkan in DOOM, these performance gains are...

THANK YOU, That is very useful.
Most probably I will get GTX 1060.
How 1060 will be as compared to 480 in near future (1-2 years)? I will get new card after 2 years.
