Solution

Forget about Kali - it is not for beginners!

Now, if you want to dual-boot Windows with (Mint, Ubuntu - choose your distro), there are several rules to follow:
- during Linux' install, leave only the disk where you want to install Linux
- if your hard drive is partitioned with MBR, make sure you have at least two free partitions (extended partitions are OK)
- be ready to lose all of your data if you make stupid mistakes
