Hello.

I know that the GTX 1080 is a faster and better card than the old maxwell titan x, but how does it look in the long run? GTX 1080 has 8GB VRAM while the Titan X has 12GB - which would be better to get? I guess it's worth mentioning that I will be playing on 1440p resolution 27 inch 144hz monitor.

I'm asking because Watch Dogs 2 uses 6GB of VRAM when maxed out on a maxwell titan x, that's why I'm wondering if soon 8GB won't be enough? Single 1080 vs SLI 2x 1070s? I've heard that some games don't support SLI?

Watchdog 2 has an option to preload as much as possible to vram.
if you have a card with 4GB, it will just use less without perfromance drop.
SLI is bad for gaming. Not all games support it. Those that do support have perfromance issues quite often. And finally, multi GPU setups have higher input lag by design.

So it's just a pre load and soes not actually need 6gb of vram? I'm not sure what is causing me to have low fps on Watch Dogs 2 on my current PC - either CPU or low vram (4gb gtx 770). I have a i5 3330 - it's pretty old but other games run fine with it.

Ok. So I guess a 1080 would be a better choice if vram doesn't matter that much. Do you know how much vram do games use nowadays and how long can i expect to be able to use a 1080?
