Hello everyone

My PC specs

I7 7700K
ASUS Z270-A Prime
Corsair H110i
Corsair DDR4 8x2GB 3000MHz
EVGA GTX 980TI
Corsair HX850
OS (Windows 7)

a couple of weeks back i upgraded my PC and everything has been working perfectly until yesterday morning after 30 mins of browsing my PC froze and noticed the CPU temp reached 85.
when reset i got the CPU fan error. i switched the 3-pin pump RPM from the CPU FAN to CPU OPT (i know its wrong) but it works and i got normal temp 25-30. This morning i got same error again with CPU OPT and temp climbed to 89...

solutions i tried so far:
- update BIOS and all drivers
- fan optimization in BIOS
- reset BIOS to default
- ignore CPU FAN in BIOS
- i read that i must use an adaptor for the RPM CPU Header but my AIO dosent come with one and as per the manual its not required.

Any ideas?

Solution
That motherboard has a dedicated pump header, did you try to connect the pump there? And check the sata plug for the pump. I have the same cooler and i have the pump connected to the dedicated pump header and the fans connected to CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT headers so they are controlled directly by the board.
