Mixing ram of exactly the same type but different capacity

I have the asus z270E mobo. I currently have 16gb of ram. Here is the link to what I'm using:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231888

Its the gskills ripjaws V 16gb 2400. DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200), Timing 15-15-15-35, Latency 15
1.2V.

I want to install 32gb ram. From what I read online, as long as the Cas latency, timing, and speed are same I should be fine.

This being said, I found a dual channel kit of 2 16gb with exactly same specs. Here is the link:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231967

Will this be fine? If so, is it possible to use the spec ram but from different manufacturer?

More about mixing ram type capacity
  1. It might work and it might not. Anytime you add more memory even if it's another set of the exact memory their a chance it will not work together at all. If your not going to also be using the old memory it should be fine.
It can be just plug and play, it can take some BIOS adjustments, it can just not work.
So their no real answer to your question.

It will be totally fine. I've done this on a lot of systems, including old ones (15 years old !) and it works.

Did you notice any speed differences? Did speeds increase appropriatelyu?

It works very well. I've even mixed low profile and high profile memory once, and it works perfectly.
