That is really unpleasant.
As hang-the-9 suggested, physical drives are really vulnerable to physical shocks/hits. You will need to replace the drive.
If you have some really important data stored over there, you will need to contact a data recovery company. You can check our Data Recovery Partners out: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=C8WLl3
