About to upgrade my processor with better (i7 975, old I know), have a question about thermal paste. I've got some we use at work for temperature sensors and I'm curious if it's the same thing and I can use it, or do I need to stop and get more. What I've got is Honeywell tradeline 107408. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://facilities.fit.edu/documents/forms/MSDS/Tradeline%2520Heat%2520Conductive%2520compound%2520MSDS.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwielcTJ8_vRAhWH0YMKHQdACxQQFggmMAI&usg=AFQjCNFv3atDOH9Qx41rWKSpAyIJkvHmjA&sig2=C7_1gNBNN69aYV5O6KEoOg
Would I be OK using that?

It will conduct heat fine, but that paste is also electrically conductive. Either you'll have to be SUPER careful that none of that gets anywhere but the space between the IHS and the heatsink or you can spend the $3 on a nonconductive paste. If you get any of that in the cpu socket your motherboard is done for.

Ya know I didnt even think about that, but temp sensors do ground through contact so need conduct, didn't even cross my mind. Was just hoping not to make a stop on the way home haha. Glad I asked thanks.
