Okay, so I currently have a store bought Aspire atc-605-eb1g and its stupid slow. All I use it for is photoshop and Lightroom and even with just Lightroom open it slows down/freezes ALL the time. (To the point where even the start menu won't show) There's nothing in the background that's hogging up processing power. It just sucks.

Intel i5 4460
8 GB DDR3-SDRAM
Windows 10
1000 GB HDD

Any suggestions on what my problem is any suggested parts for speeding it up that's compatible with what I have? Or is it a lost cause?

Sorry I'm sure this kinda thing gets asked a lot. I'm at the end of my ability to figure it out and needed to reach out to someone else.
Thanks!!

Both your applications are graphics resource intensive, so I would go with video upgrade. I couldn't tell what it was using for graphics now though to make a further suggestion. You have the recommended amount or RAM but if you can inexpensively increase it, i would do that as well. Not sure on which MoBo this computer has in it, but the MS7869 I found that at least some of this model use would support 16Gb.

Thank you for the help. So I looked up the motherboard. It's an Acer Aspire Tc-605 lga1150 Any suggestions for a video card you would think would help? Would a CPU upgrade be worth it?
