I am going to buy a CPC and I am wondering if I should buy one 1070, or if two 1050ti will outperform it?

I am looking at
ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB ROG Strix

ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 ROG Strix Gaming

Yah no sli- many games are not optimized for sli anymore. Best to stick with a fast single card. THis comes from a guy who use to sli everything lol. I had for nvidias best card from 580 gtx to each generation down to 7950 gx2s in sli. These days support is not there as much any more

You can have explicit multi-GPU with a pair of 1050 or even completely different GPUs, but that requires DX12/Vulkan games with explicit support for it.

In general though, due to unpredictable performance of SLI/CF, poor/no support in most games and a frequent need for game-specific tweaks in the drivers themselves, a single stronger GPU is a much more predictable and less troublesome option.

Congratulations on two years thread necromancy.

If you need to spend more money on the setup to get worse performance than spending a similar total amount of money on a single GPU and have to run Windows in 'Test Mode' which severely limits the number of games that won't throw anti-cheat or DRM errors, I'd count that as nothing more than a proof of concept at best: it can be made to sort-of-work but does not make any practical or economic sense. Even the video you linked concludes that SLIing low-end GPUs does not make any sense and is more trouble than it is worth.
