Having some trouble with my build. Before I start, here are my specs.

- AMD FX 9590 CPU
- GTX 980 GPU
- GIGABYTE m5a99fx pro r2.0 MB
- 2 X Samsung EVO 500gb SSD
- 1000W EVGA 80+Platinum PSU
- H100i GTX cooler

After recently having some issues with my troublesome and rather unstable processor freezing, I had decided to clean out all of the dust in my case, particularly the h100i cooler (being that I presume this is causing my CPU to overheat and freeze)

After dusting, turning on my computer lasts for about 5 seconds before shutting off again. I have no idea what could be causing this or why. The only component I had removed is the cooler, and I didn't unplug it whilst I dusted it. This forum is my last resort to finding a solution as I currently replug every component on my motherboard. Can anyone help me?

How long has it been having problems? Most people with 9590's who don't get it solved quickly wind up with either a dead chip or a dead mobo. Do you have any active cooling for your mobo? A lot of people resort to watercooling for the chip, but without a CPU fan there isn't enough airflow for the VRM's and so forth. CPU temps look great but it can be slowly (or not so slowly) killing your board.

I've done this, and the PC boots for a little longer now. What seems to happen is, it boots and the fan speeds actually slowly increase until they reach what sounds like maximum RPM. Once it hits the highest RPM for a bit, it crashes. Now when I boot (it was doing this before also) the cooler fans go straight into a high rpm before it turning off after 5 (sometimes more) seconds.

I was indeed having problems with it freezing before but only when turbo core was activated. Then, it started to freeze on stock clock speed which is what gave me the insentive to clean the cooler of dust.

UPDATE: After booting a 2nd time the fans have calmed down however the computer is unresponsive, no display or HDD LED flicker (I usually use this as a crash indicator)

Unfortunately the board doesn't have display ports :-(

Unfortunately I'm not sure what that is - the board, and processor, we're both a terrible choice really. However after running the two for over a year together I thought I'd see if there's anything I can do to fix the issue before I splash out on Intel.
