Emailed ASUS but, not sure if will ever hear back....

Does anyone know if the ASUS P5Q-e motherboard has power running to the onboard USB ports when powered off?

I am using my old system as a media server, and been looking at the FLIRC STREACOM. Basically a small iR receiver board that you connect to the onboard USB and put the power button wires to... that way I can use my Sony remote to power on the PC, but, it only works if there is power running to the ports when the PC is powered off. That or I have to cut into some power supply wiring and I'd rather not.

Not sure... I have a USB multicard reader in the 2.5" bay at the front... which when off I get no power from it, but, if the PC gets shut off abruptly like a power outtage during a storm, when the power comes back the 2 LED lights at the front of the card reader are lit.

So... very confusing. Power does go to it after an improper shutdown to light the LEDS, but no power to the USB it seems for charging.

But, that may not be because the onboard port has no power, it could be the design of the card reader.
