Is my PSU enough?

Hello!

I am wondering if my PSU is suitable for a 1070 SLI. My PSU is an EVGA 650w GQ that has been running for 2 months. Is there a different PSU I need to get for SLI? Thanks.

The power supply is fine if you're using 1070s with single 8 pin PCI-E power connections. Some factory overclocked cards will need an 8 pin and a 6 pin or 2 x 6 pins and the GQ 650 only has 2 x 8 pin connections.

So quality is fine and it's plenty of power but I still wouldn't use adapters with it. Single 8 pin powered cards are fine.

The power supply is fine with SLI but does not have enough connectors, is that right?

It has enough connectors if the 1070s have single 8 pin connections. If they require more then no it doesn't have enough. It's possible to use Molex adapters but I recommend against it.

So as long as it has one 8 pin on the both, it's fine?

I'm wrong. I just assumed and didn't look. Ignore anything I said about it not having enough cables. You're fine. The power supply has 4 x 8 ( 6+2 ) pin connectors. In my defense it's unusual for a 650w unit.

PCIE 4x 8pin (6+2) <---- Right from the website.

OK I was right about it being high enough quality and you're fine on cables. Get any cards you want and have fun. :p

Thanks so much! I was thinking about 2 Galax HOF 1070 cards.
