Hey,

I have:

i5-6600k
Nvidia GTX 1070 (MSI)
EVGA 500W bronze+
16 GB RAM (ripjaw)
MSI Z170A PC mate

I'm considering swapping out my PSU for an EVGA 750W gold+ and add another 1070 in SLI.

Do you guys think my CPU will bottleneck me with two GPU?

If so, will overclocking it help fix that? It is a really cool CPU so I have been able to OC it to 4.4 without any issue whatsoever.

Thanks!

At 720p - yes. Your GPU will be capable of super high FPS at 720p, and your CPU will be only be capable of the same FPS as any other resolution.
1080p - occasionally. Unless you play at sub 50 FPS by using a high resolution or settings, every CPU will bottleneck in some games.
1440p - hardly at all.
4K - even less often than 1440p.

Every game is different, and all CPU bottleneck, as do GPU's. Pick based on your resolution, with a little bit of mindfulness of the CPU. Your refresh rate will matter more on whether or not the CPU is enough. At 60hz, you are golden. At 144hz, on the rare case a game is well threaded, an i7 will do better.

I appreciate your response.

I see what you're saying. So you think it's worth it to switch out the PSU and add another 1070? I just don't want to waste my money if that second cards potential will be wasted.
