Hey there,

I am an animator and use a lot of programs like photoshop, flash etc. for my work.
I've been running a computer with the following specs:

Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme4 AM3+
CPU: AMD FX 4100
Ram: 4x 8GB Hyper Fury X DDR3 1866 sticks
GPU: GTX 680
500GB Samsung Evo SSD

I originally intended to upgrade the motherboard and CPU to Intel and keep the RAM, but it was hard to find both that were compatible with the rest of the set up (if you have any idea of what would be good, that'd be great).
Due to some financial issues (gosh dang car keeps breaking down) I had to opt out and go for just a CPU upgrade. Now, finally, to the question, what would be the best AMD CPU to get that'd work well with my system?
I'm in Australia so things are a little more expensive so I'd like to keep it around the AMD FX 6300 price mark.(+ is the 6300 the best to get?)

Solution
From my experience the 6300 is a better option (+ it has better overclocking capabilities) and it will be cheaper that the 8000 series. And use less power by default.

haha yeah i stated it a lil stupid, but I meant it as in the couple of hundred $ range would the 6300 be the best bet?
I've heard that the cpu's in the 8xxx range aren't that much better than he 6300, especially price wise?

Would anyone have a good guide to a medium over clock of a 6300 with my mobo?
As the link above recommended not having a high OC
I'm quite new to OCing so I'd prefer to be safe than sorry
