Hi everyone,

Sorry I'm not sure where to post this so here it goes. I just finished my first build and am very happy with it. I would however like to add a little more style to it with some custom lighting. A lot of resources have been easy to study up on and locate except one... a 3/4 pin fan-style connector that can be spliced/soldered to a custom string of lights.

My MB (MSI X99a Gaming Pro) has a 4 pin header for extra lighting that can be controlled via the MSI Gaming App. I'm trying to put together maybe four/six 6-8 inch strings of lights with a foot or so between each so I can work the wire around the case (as in this example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3LjOEyc218). It would connect to the MB via a 4 pin connector but all I can seem to find are Molex connectors but this wouldn't allow for Gaming App control.

Any thoughts or advice on where I can get a 4 pin connector that I can connect to a custom string of lights? I'd also appreciate any other thoughts on the matter. Many thanks in advance.

How about going with NZXT HUE+,

HUE+ comes with controller, 4 LED strips and plenty of connectors to extend LED strips around your case. Due to the controller, you have 2 channels that you can control separately. HUE+ controller also lets you to control each LED light separately (there's 10 LEDs per 1 LED strip).

Thanks Aeacus but yea, not sure about that extension kit control wise. I would still have to butcher them. I only have one 4 pin header on the mobo to control these lights. I was wanting to make one continuous series of lights (as they did in the video I linked to in my original post) connected by various lengths of wire in order to make it to all areas of the case that I'd like to light. Then have that one strip connect to that one mobo header.

I have the CoolerMaster Strom Stryker case and was wanting 2 strips on the underside, two strips hidden in the top to illuminate the top grills and maybe 1 strip inside, on the floor of the case just below the window to illuminate upwards. I think that'll look sweet as hell. lol
