My monitor has A DVI-D and a VGA ports and my mobo has DVI-I port, so how to i connect them?
the way i did is
# mobo - >DVI-I port-> DVI-D to VGA coneverter-> VGA-VGA cable-> VGA port on monitor.
When i connected in this way the text is all blurry even at the recommended resolution 1600*900(also max res that my monitor can support) and @ 60Hz. so opting this method out what method should i go among the below methods..?
1. mobo DVI-I port-> DVI-I to VGA converter-> VGA to VGA cable-> VGA port on monitor
2. mobo DVI-I port-> DVI-D to DVI-D cable -> DVI-D port on monitor
3. buy a graphic card that has a VGA port and simply use VGA to VGA to my monitor.?
PLEASE HELP ME..Thanks in advance

thanks for the reply.Yes, i know about the difference b/w these cables( only basic about what signals they send and what they don't),
coming to your suggestion, should I go with direct DVI-D to DVI-D cable OR DVI-I > DVI-I to VGA Cable > VGA
I'm confused becaz u said to go with option 2 and you suggested DVI-I > DVI-I to VGA Cable > VGA
OR Is the blurr text at all related to the connectivity or not..? because i tried everything that internet can offer( updating drivers, clear text etcc)

Ya I can see how I wasn't clear. Go with option 2 DVI-D to DVI-D. The rest was a short little explanation on the port.

the blurry is most likely caused by a cheap VGA chip in either the mobo or the monitor DVI using a digital signal should solve that issue

thanks a lot once again, went to the local store this morning and picked a DVI-D to DVI-D cable for 10 bucks and it worked like a charm. So the connector that i used was a faulty one:) Lesson learned, BEWARE OF ANY LOCAL MADE CONNECTORS,
