If I can't get Mushkin, I'll usually go for Corsair... after that any of the major brands that meet the specs and timing desired.

As far as speed, the price jumps are minimal and you go up and speed till ya get to 3200. Above that the prices can be substantial.

Video editing loves more RAM, faster RAM and lower CAS

DDR4-3200 CAS 16 runs about $99
DDR4-3200 CAS 15 runs about $105 - $125 depending on day of purchase
DDR4-3200 CAS 14 runs about $135

DDR4-3000 CAS 15 runs about $95
DDR4-3000 CAS 14 runs about $130
The timings are just as important as the MHz for RAM. Realistically though your really looking low single digit percentage improvements for video games/editing.

Just look for a decent brand and since you're editing get 16/32GB depending on budget and type of editing. For 1080p casual editing 16GB will be just fine.
