SSD annoying freezing

I bought my SSD a few years ago, I've played several games in the past and everything worked greatly.
Yesterday when I felt like playing a mod from Medieval total war 2, I noticed that the SSD is freezing constantly for aparently no reason whatsoever.

After searching on the internet, I found 2 possible solutions.
1 - Switch from AHCI to IDE, but my OS is already installed as AHCI, plus there is the trim.
2 - go to regedit and change the keys from intel regarding the LPM on the sata ports to set value to 0.

Both solutions could screw my computer pretty bad.

Also the very first thing that I've done when I installed my SSD was to disable desfragment forever, infact it was working as intended for several yearys, but a few months ago I noticed it has been changed back to active.. I've already fixed it again again, but I wonder how and why the computer changed it back without my permission? Could a few disfragments be the cause of some permanent damage on the ssd and is causing these freezing issues? Or might it be something else? Since I am not the only person experiencing this kind of issue on the SSD.

My SSD is set on AHCI.
Firmware is updated to the lastest version.
Power usage is set on performance and never sleep.
I've set all LPM value to 0, I think it has improved a little, but still freezing.

I am really really really annoyed.
 
Solution
Both your HDD and SSD looks fine from SMART. The total amount of writes to a drive generally seems to be less than what people might expect. Considering the age of the drive, 3.7TB is pretty low. Most people probably end up with that much in a single year of use. I generally estimate about 10GB per day for the average person.

The only parameter that I can see in your SSD SMART data that could be of note is that there has been 217 unexpected power loss events on the drive. Again, I still feel that is on the lower side of average considering the age of the drive but the thing it, it just takes a single bad power loss while the drive is writing critical system areas to cause issues with a client SSD. I highly doubt that's what happened...

There is no defragment function on an ssd, it is an algo named wear levelling that does the mandatory job and keep nand cells optimised.

Anyway, you have a good sense, cause what is happening is your ssd dyeing due to too much write/erase cycle on it. You probably use a MLC which has lower time to live....TLC nowadays is even worse but cheaper....

Try Crystal Disk Info to see if the SSD is still alright...though S M A R T don't work as well as they are supposed too or at all...

Give it a go with the suggestions from the guys. However, I'd recommend that you backup any important data which you might have on that SSD, just to be on the safe side.
You should also try the drive with a different SATA port and different cables as well (data and power) to see if the same thing happens, as this issue could be easily caused by a faulty connection as well.

I know defragment a SSD is a bad thing! First thing I did was to disable it, it worked as intended (disabled) for several years, but months ago I noticed it was set back active and several defragments had taken place. I have absolutely no idea why and how it happened, since I haven't switched.

It is impossible to be too much writting/erasing, since I barely used it, all the floating data I've realocated to my HDD, I rarely used my SSD to play games, I had a very few games installed and those were hand picked for having long loading time, otherwise I would had installed on my HDD and play from there.
From my firmware, the information about the writting is set blue, the most perfect that there is.
The lifespan is set green which means good conditions non errors (although it supposed to be blue, anyways)

I have not messed my ssd by careless installed things and removed it. I rarely used it at all, but last time I did (1 year ago, probably) it was rock solid, as good as the first day that I've used the first time, extremely fast without a single issue, but now... It's showing a problem that I never had, and I wasn't using much less abusing the SSD for this time being, I did literally nothing.

My ssd is an Corsair Force series 360GB, it cost more than 1 thousand in my currency, one of the most expensive ones. Dunno if it's MLC, but certaintly isn't those bad kingstom sdds out there.

Gonna try this crystal disk though.

Edit: Changed the port 3 to port 1 in the mobo, still the same sata cable, no improvements.

The SMART data you posted are fine. But there's more than just those, you have to scroll through them (or use HD Tune instead and just copy the whole list as text)

Anyways, to answer a few of you questions. Defrag is bad only because how it works is that it moves data around by re writing it. This puts extra write cycles on an SSD without providing any benefits. If you notice, in SMART, you have a total of about 3TB written to the drive over it's life. That's nothing so you NAND should not be wearing out. By the way, pretty much everything is at best MLC nowadays. The thinking that only SLC is good NAND is a few years out dated.

Without the rest of the SMART data, I can't really guess at how you used your drive, but it doesn't seem like the obvious case of bad sectors/dying drive.

With multiple people having issues, if it is something with the drive itself, I'd suspect firmware bugs or component quality issues. NAND issues would usually show up in SMART though.

I hope there is not permanent damage on the device. These 3.7TB is a lot more than I've used, might be because of defrag probably.

I've read rumours about a new update from intel causing this kind of problems on the ssds, they said the LPM of power administration is making the ssds enter in a cycle of sleeping, although how could it sleep if it's being used? Besides I've already set values to 0 on regedit (I think it improved a little). Corsair hasn't updated their firmware for quite some time now, so maybe when or if they do, it will get fixed. If they don't update then idk, it's pretty frustrating though.

Both your HDD and SSD looks fine from SMART. The total amount of writes to a drive generally seems to be less than what people might expect. Considering the age of the drive, 3.7TB is pretty low. Most people probably end up with that much in a single year of use. I generally estimate about 10GB per day for the average person.

The only parameter that I can see in your SSD SMART data that could be of note is that there has been 217 unexpected power loss events on the drive. Again, I still feel that is on the lower side of average considering the age of the drive but the thing it, it just takes a single bad power loss while the drive is writing critical system areas to cause issues with a client SSD. I highly doubt that's what happened with your drive but just something to throw out there.

Otherwise, the drives looks like they should be perfectly healthy. I guess that doesn't really help your problem.

As a last resort, you could always try to format the drives and start over with a clean install of Windows.

Alright thanks, I've been thinking about formating it. Just a little lazy to store the stuff from the ssd elsewhere.
I guess I am gonna wait a few months, see if corsair will update their firmware first.
