After having no luck getting a reply from Microsoft or their forums I thought I'd try and get an answer on trusty Toms.
Sunday night my son was watching Netflix on his Xbone (original model, not One-S) when his console suddenly switched off with what he described as a loud crack and a flash.
We've tried the power brick in a different socket and it made no difference so we know it's the root of the problem.
My question is though, with the brick having a surge protector, is there still a chance it has fried the console too? We can't test it with a different brick as everyone else I know has a One-S.
Was going to order a new brick from MS tomorrow but having doubts whether its worth it without knowing if the actual console is alive and kicking :/
Thanks for any replies in advance
