I stay in hostel dorm room and I'm provided with one lanport. My hostels Ip is say 10.xx.yy.abc.
The LAN port when connected can use any one ip at a time like 10.xx.yy.247.
I have two systems, one mac n one pc that I built. Both have 1Gbps Ethernet ports. If I use LAN for mac I have to disconnect pc or if I use LAN for pc I can't connect mac.
So is there a way to connect both to the internet at a time? I wanted to buy a LAN splitter but even if I don't use the mac, my pc ll only get less speed because of the splitter. So should I buy a router or switch or is there any way I can share internet(LAN) from my pc?
