CS:GO 90% CPU usage while playing and crashes alot

I have been playing CS for a while now and recently my game would just crash at random times. I couldn't figure out what was wrong until i noticed that cs:go was using 90 to 100 percent of my cpu usage. I have yet to figure out the problem. Nothing seems to fix the issue and currently the game is unplayable at this point. Plz help

CPU: i5-3570k @ 3.40GZ
GPU: Nvidia GTX 760
Ram: 8gb

Fixed a friends PC that had this problem. Apparently his CPU was overheating and EIST was trying to help by lowering his CPU speed to 800 MHZ. Not sure if this is the problem you're having.
