I have a TOSHIBA External HDD, when I plug th usb to my, it only makes a "usb sound" after 5 seconds, it will another "usb sound" and get disconnected. It will repeat this cycle as long as its connected. How to fix pls

Hi there dankknightavngr,

As this obviously, looks like a connection related issue, you need to troubleshoot the connection.

You can attach the drive with a different USB cable, to another USB port or even computer. In case the issue persists, then I believe there could be something wrong with the enclosure.
If it is under warranty, you can just RMA it.

Cheers,

It might also be an "insufficient power" problem if it's a portable drive (ie it has no mains power adapter, relies solely on USB power).

That can be overcome by connecting it to a mains-powered USB hub which are stocked by Amazon & many other online vendors.

(However, that problem doesn't usually arise unless you've got several other USB-powered devices plugged in at the same time).
