Hi,
My old laptop failed (power/charging) and I am trying to recover the files from the HDD that was inside it.
I took the old HDD and placed it in USB caddy, which has an external PSU and powers up.
The old HDD won't show up in my computer in my new laptop. It does appear in Disk Management as online, healthy GPT Protective Partition. It does not have a drive letter and won't let me assign one.
Using the cmd > diskpart tool, it also doesn't show up when i use the command "list volume".
I suspect the problem lies with the fact that the harddrive was split into two partitions in the old laptop, and one of them was encrypted using bitlocker. I have the encryption key but I don't know how to restore the old HDD partitions in order to unlock it.
Is what I'm trying to do possible?

Many Thanks

D

Solution
Nevermind,

I changed the caddy to a different one (without external power) and all the previous partitions showed up in my computer and allowed me to unlock the encrypted partition through windows.
