Hello everyone, I want to replace my graphics card. I play in 1920x1080 resolution and graphics doesn't matter me, I can play in low quality. If I replace my 2 GB GT 420 with older 1 GB 9500GT, what can I get? I know, GT 420 is way more newer from 9500GT, maybe it's so nonsense question, but in some websites, everyone saying 9500GT is very powerful card. I'm so confused.

Note: And the games I want to play: Europa Universalis IV, Shogun 2: Total War, Empire: Total War...

Solution
I like to use passmark.com to compare cards. Higher score on there is better.
The 9500 GT gets a score of 283.
The GT 420 gets a score of 458.
So based on this, you would be down grading quite a bit if you went to the 9500 GT.
I have a rule that if I can't double my score on passmark.com I don't bother with the upgrade.

If you want to upgrade, start at the bottom of this list: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
Find one in the 1000 score range or better, then make sure it fits your rig and your budget.
