Hi Guys,

I just built a new PC and after benchmarking it with UserBenchmark, it states that all my components are in the 10th percentile or so. I was wondering what could be causing this, as it is causing low fps in games like Battlefield 1, Witcher 3 and GTA V etc, despite the fact that I am only trying to run them at a 1080p resolution.

The specs are listed below:

Intel i7 6700K
16GB DDR4 RAM
EVGA GTX 1080 FTW
Samsung 850 256GB SSD
1TB Hard Drive

Any help would be much appreciated :)!

Thanks!

Oh, now I see.

You bought a non OCing motherboard, that's probably why.

It only supports ram speeds up to 2133, so you're stuck there.

Also it means you can't OC you i7.

So the motherboard is most likely the cause here, as to what's holding you back, but not really preventing your computer from still working fine, it's just you spent extra money on a fancy CPU and Memory that you can't take full advantage of.

Ah, you need to go into the BIOS and enable the XMP/JDEC profile/option for the ram, the benchmark clearly states you bought a 3000mhz kit, but it's only running at 2133mhz. So it is indeed running below expectations.

That may help your CPU as well. though closing ALL unnecessary background applications will help more. (skype, discord, steam, ANYTHING as they all use a little CPU power, also may have to optimize Windows 10 to get the best benchmark, so you'll have to google that up and look how to disable things like Cortana as she can be a CPU hog, and there are probably a few others as well.)

Also double check your MOBO manual to make sure you put the ram sticks in the RIGHT slots.

Hey James,

I just tried to do that but it crashed my PC and I got a blackscreen saying overclocking failed...it only reads as 2133MHz in my BIOS and if I try to change it to anything else it crashses =(.
