Hello i currently have

1060 3gb
Amd FX 6300 (Stock)
8gb DDR3 Ram
Windows 7

And i want to either buy i5 6600k or i5 6600 and 16Gb ddr4 ram.
wich CPU should i buy? I dont know how to overclock but i know that the i5 6600k would cost me more because of the cpu itself and the motherboard. What is the fps difference between these 2 CPU's? Is there a big difference.

I Play CSGO, and i play very Competitively, so i want an upgrade to get good performance.
And im planning to play GTA V, Arma 3 and probably some new games that will come out.

Please Help :)

With either of them you WILL have to get yourself a new motherboard alongside some new DDR4 RAMs.

In addition to that, if you choose the 6600K you will also have to buy an after-market cooler, because they don't come with one inside it's box. ( The 6600 does tho ).

FPS is mostly dictated by your GPU, so your 1060 will say how much FPS you can achieve, not the CPU. That is, if you don't a have bottleneck in your system with that FX 6300, which i believe isn't substential if you play only CS:GO. But in games like GTA V the difference from a FX 6300 to a i5 6600 would be very noticeable because GTA is a very CPU-Intensive game.

Between those two, the 6600K is fastest Skylake CPU in single core performance, so games will benefit greatly...

with the i5 7600k and other Kaby Lake i5's out now...no reason to buy a Skylake CPU. The fps deifference between those two all depends how far you're going to overclock the unlocked one. otherwise there will be basically less than 1% difference in games

available for in-store pickup only. so if you don't live a reasonable distance from a microcenter, which about 90% of the US population does not, this is kind of out of the question.

that's great but if you're like me and would have to spend $60 in gas + 12 hours of my life just to get to the closest one, it's not very economical.
