I was told it helps prevent ESD but I just realized it wouldn't work as it has batteries and capacitors, I've had it sitting on a sheet of it for 3 days, I'm using it tomorrow, can I still use it or is it dead now?

Solution
It's likely the only bad thing is the CMOS battery could've drained and needs replacing. Shorting power to unintended pins would be bad but the capacitors aren't likely to have had enough charge to zap anything. The capacitors themselves take decades at no voltage before they require gradual reforming.

It's important to note that silvery anti-static bags are themselves partially conductive in order to do their job (an insulating bag would make a capacitor) so can also drain the CMOS battery, and you don't want to power up + run a board on those either.
