HDD vs SSHD for Dedicated game drive.

I understand the benefit of using an sshd for an os + game drive however if I am going to just fill a drive with games will there be a benefit worth the extra $30?

I do plan on getting a 512gb ssd for games that benefit from them with faster load times but right now i'm just looking at a 2TB hdd to replace my maxed out (and failing) 1TB.

Hi Bryce Demar,

In general, it depends on the drives, but as you know you will benefit from a SSHD when it comes to the most used software, because of the caching system. When it comes to a gaming drive where you will store a lot of games, I would put a high performance hard drive, a 7200 RPM drive with 64 MB Cache. A good high performance HDD may grant you better results than the HDD part of the SSHD.
