So we have 4 Render nodes currently each packed with 8x4GB Modules of;

SKhynix 4GB 2Rx8 PC3 - 12800R - 11 - 12 -B1

We need to upgrade to 64gb or above would this kit work;

hynix 8GB 2Rx4 PC3 - 12800R - 11 -11 - E2

Case Super Micro 827 -16
Processor - Intel Xeon E5-262R
MOBO - Super Micro X9DRT http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/C600/X9DRT-HF.cfm

Would there be any problems with this?

HMT31GR7CFR4C-PB is the Module Manufacturer Part # that is supported on that list. Just worried about the form factor as well and the fact the old RAM is 2Rx8 and new is 2Rx4 and the timings are different as well 11-12-B1 > 11-11-E2.

I believe from this I know I can't mix the two but I can completely replace them I believe??? Just want confirmation before spending £600 on RAM.

Yes you can replacing the old model sticks with the ones you see now should work out fine.
Mixing with the different speeds and voltages of the same memory brand usually doesn't work out.
Send the seller a message and get clarification before spending the money if he says exactly what I'm telling you now.
It'll be fine when you install it.

So I received the RAM and installed it however now I have a problem with the render node.

As soon as windows starts loading the fans ramp up to 100% and stay there?? Any ideas.

update--I have tried putting the old RAM in and it goes back to normal.

Hmm reduce the ram speed with the voltage settings and try it again.
