Hello everyone,

So Im building a pc for architecture modeling and rendering.but Im really having trouble deciding which CPU to get. Keep in mind that Im using Vray in 3DSMAX, so most of the times im going to be using the GPU to render; However some of my models are very heavy, on average 1GB. I have an SSD,but sometimes it takes for ever for my models to open. I was going over my budget, so for the moment I bought and I5-5600, But I want to replace it maybe for the 6700k or 7700k. Keep in mind that im not very familiar with pc, so I dont know which component I can add for my pc to open programs faster.

is it more cores?

or faster clock speed?

i5 5600 cpu
I have 16gb ram
Gigabyte sniper B7
evga 500W
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 250GB SATA
gtx 1080 gpu

Should I invest on CPU?more ram?more memory?

thanks in advance

1 GB file sizes? Those will be pretty painful to open in Max, any way you look at it. The 16 GB of RAM would be a minimum requirement, IMHO. Also, I'm assuming the memory frequency is pretty fast? And the SSD will help, but NVMe would be better. As long as it's not causing a bottleneck, faster storage is the best way to get programs and files to open faster.

I have a Kingston HyperX Fury Black DDR4-2133 =16GB should I get faster speed? or adding another 16gb would solver the problem? I definitely think the CPU is causing the bottle neck.
