Hello.

As the title says, I need a advice of thermal paste to replace my MX-4. (I'm sorry in advance for my bad English). Here is the situation.

I have TOSHIBA laptop for about 4 years and I noticed it's become hotter to the point that the CPU (Intel core i5 2450M) clock was throttling (100 degree Celcius). So I bought Arctic Cooling MX-4 and use it to my laptop. At first, the temperature is nicely low about 80 oC after 1 hour of prime95, stable. The problem is the temperature gradually increased everyday until it reached 80-85 oC @ IDLE even without doing anything, and easily throttled even on merely 25% CPU load. This happened on day 6 after I applied the MX-4.

So I opened my laptop (again) and I saw the paste is pushed aside from the chip surface, so there was almost no paste left on the chip surface, i.e. between chip surface and the heatsink. The paste itself was still "wet". So I clean the old paste residue and re-applied the paste. Unfortunately, the symptom repeated, and I re-applied the paste about four or five times, but the temperature was always worsen after 5-7 days after the paste application.

I've heard (and seen) that thermal paste that contain micro/nano diamond like IC Diamond will scratch the processor die. Cooler Master MasterGel Maker Nano contains nano diamond so I suspect it will scratch too, but I'm not sure yet.

So, I need advice what paste should I use for laptop application so it can last much longer than a week, probably about 1-2 years maybe.
Preferably if it's one of this list so I can easily grab it from my country's local store.
I also prefer if the suggestion is based of some experience or data, because the one who suggest me to use MX-4 for my laptop are apparently some "MX-4 believer".
I'm sorry if I asked too much.
