GTX 980 4GB vs GTX 1060 3GB

I can purchase a second hand Galax GTX 980 4GB H.O.F Edition (only a year old and kept in great condition) for the same price as a Palit GTX 1060 3GB.

Am I right in saying that the Galax 980 is the best choice? (The design on it is much better too)

I know this isnt what you asked but if you could save for a 1060 with 6 gigs of memory i think that would definitely be the better way to go. The 980 is about 5-7% better than the 1060 in overall speed. but i think having that extra 2 gigs could be a lifesaver in the long run.

Yeah, I get what you mean! The only thing is, I'll be upgrading the card within a year or two to the latest generation card at that time, so I don't mind going without the 6GB 1060 for now :) thank you though!
