I tried playing Skyrim Special Edition and 5 minutes into the game it crashed. One monitor had black with grey bars while the main monitor was just black.

Upon rebooting both monitors remained black when it should have been the Win10 log in. I can boot into safe mode but that's it. I've uninstalled Skyrim. When I went to download drivers for my graphics card to see if that was the issue upon trying to install them the screen just went black again.

Not sure what is causing the problem at all whether it's something skyrim caused or something with my graphics cards or display monitors

Edit:
I was able to uninstall my drivers and upon rebooting it worked. Upon reinstalling the latest drivers for my GPU it went straight to black screen again.

Solution

No, if he can get into windows safe mode then there is no issue with CMOS.

If you can get into Safe Mode and not full windows then there is a problem with drivers or other widnows service that does not load in Safe Mode.

Try installing newest verion of GPU drivers.
If that does nothing go to motherboard's website and download newest versions of its drivers (chipset, lan, audio, usb3.0)
