Is this a good build? I'm most likely instead gonna get a custom loop. I want to be able to achieve high overclocks with silence. I want to play most games at 4k with over 60fps as im getting the asus 144hz 4k monitor. My budget for everything is £4000 Thank you

The 1080 Ti has been sitting on the shelf since November.... if we look at nVidia's past practice, they won't drop the Ti till after AMD drops their new cards. Back when AMD busted out a heavy ad campaign for the 29x series, nVidia stole the thunder, dropping an "Oh BTW, we have a new card that's even faster" ... I expect the same strategy this time around.... I am guessing we'll see NDAs drop this April

On the cooling front ...The Kraken X62 is not a custom loop and frankly is a poor excuse for a CPU cooler... it gets beat by the Noctua NH-D15 at half the price. If you want an All-In-One cooler, grab the cheaper Swiftch H240 X2 of H360 X2. Unlike with the Kraken, you get a real custom loop components pre-assembeld at the factory...

You could achieve 60fps 4K with a 1080 in most games, but to get anywhere near 144fps at 4K you would need to do SLI.

EDIT: This does depend on the games you play too. Less demanding games could possibly achieve over 100fps 4K.

I think you could achieve 100fps at 4K.

Since you would get about 60fps with 1 1080, and SLI doesn't work perfectly, so maybe a little more than 100fps.

Tbh, 4K at 144fps is a serious dream, and you need to spend a LOT of money.

100+ on Steam alone, dang you summer sale and humble bundle, but very few install, but Fallout 4 with Highres textures and
Mods is 75gb alone.

It's not even out so how can it have a price?

That said, I think you can safely assume the price to be around £1000 or more at launch.

Yeeh i know i was just wondering if people thought it would be £1000 or £2000. Ok that should be fine, thanks!

To my eyes there are no "good 4K system as of **now** for two reasons:

1. There are no 4k, 144 Hz monitor with Display Port 1.4 Connectors. Acer and Asus have one coming but it's not here yet.

2. There are no GFX cards that can drive 4k at > 60fps....even in SLI ... Hitman, Just Cause, Rainbow 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider.

3. I think we'll get there soon; I expect the 1080 Ti will deliver in SLI, but you'll need $3k minimum just for GFX cards and Monitor.

Well it looks like money isn't a problem.
Any idea when the 1080 Ti comes out?

And please.... forget about any hybrid. You are doing a custom loop, if you don't want to mount a water block on the GFX cards get a card pre-assembled with a **real** water block from EK such as the MSI Seahawk 1080 Ti EK X
