hey there so I have a gigabyte p57 i76700HQ 16gb RAM NVidia gtx 970m and I do experience games lagging a lot frame drops etc and these are not on games that are poorly optimized either I was just wondering if I can overclock this laptop safely or if its best to leave if it is possible what software would I need I have never done this before thanks in advance

In general when you overlock your temperatures will increase, especially if you overlock a lot because you have to increase your voltage. I would not recommend overlocking on a laptop because cooling is generally insufficient.
