i was going to get the gtx 1060 but the gsync monitors are WAY over budget so im thinking of getting the rx 480.i want to play old and current games at decent fps with no lag

Solution
GTX 1060 6GB will probably be the better performer most of the time in older DX11 based titles because of reduced CPU overhead.

However the RX 480 8GB is a good performer and will still perform great in most older games, especially with FreeSync it will probably still be more eye-pleasing then the better performing GTX 1060 6GB.
