Spectrum/Time Warner 50Mbps Cable internet with Basic TV, Aaris SSB6141 Modem, Netgear MRN834B, V2 Router, Vizio E650i-A2 65” TV, Roku Premiere, SlingTV Blue/Orange
Ethernet cable is connected from Aaris to Netgear, Netgear ethernet 1 to Vizio ethernet (I have used all 4 Netgear ports), coupled with multiple ethernet cables. Using Vizio's internal connection test mode results vary between 390-660kbps. Running a Speedtest.net or Speedtest.twc.net on wifi shows 48-50Mbps on my W10 Lenovo ThinkPad or my Samsung S5.
Why would I have this speed discrepancy? I have few problems streaming Roku channels, although there are infrequent buffering issues. SlingTV is problematic, taking forever to load a channel, extended buffering, dropped signals, programs freeze requiring a return to the home screen or even a reboot.
I would love to resolve the issues to eliminate the ongoing grief from my technologically challenged wife. Any solutions to the SlingTV issues & the slow Vizio ethernet are appreciated.
