So I started folding@home a month or so ago and im at about 4.25mil points. My CPU is in the range of 62-65C on the hottest core and my GPU is at a constant 55C. Are these temps too high for 24/7 operation (more the CPU than the GPU, 55C is well in the safe zone from what i've read so far)? Thanks in advance.

55c is perfectly fine for a cpu if you are doing intensive calculations on it such as folding Firecheetah.

For both a Amd FX cpu or an Intel based cpu.

You safe as houses with thoes temps.

A Amd FX cpu as a maximum temp till you encounter problems due to heat is about 84c to 86c

Intel based cpu`s fair a lot better and can still wok fine without any errors up to around 90c or more.

Not a black speep just a bit more informed. Were not talking about a stress test were talking 24/7 use. Look what he is using the PC for folding non stop constant load.

Well i said under 85 too, didnt mean constant, it cant go wrong with some spikes to 85
