Currently, our testing shows only the ASUS ROG Maximus IX Apex motherboard capable of the DDR4-4266 memory kits.
DDR4-4266 requires a great CPU, even with a certified motherboard it can be difficult to reach

Refer to the G.Skill QVL for your motherboard:

Hello GSkill
I got a ASUS ROG Maximus IX Apex and a Trident Z RGB - 4266 Mhz Kit (F4-4266C19D-16GTZR)...
On it is a 7700k and a MSI GTX 1080 Foundersedition...
But i wasnt able to get 4266 Mhz.. max i got was 4100 Mhz after much time...
Is it possible i got a CPU with a bad Memorycontroller or is there anything else i could do?
or could it be the RAM?`
CPU itself runs at 5.1 Ghz but i also tried at Stockspeeds but that didnt help to get the ram running at 4266 mhz
