Hi Guys,
I know this is a close to 10 year old PC setup , but it's been resting in my home for quite a while. I suddenly feel like playing some games in it. So, I'd need some help to figure out the BEST graphics card for my Q8200 processor which could let me play games until 2012 or 2013, without bottleneck that is. Kindly pour in your suggestions. I mostly play hack n slash type games only.

Thanks in advance!!

That card does not even supports DX11.1

Does that matter? It's a Q8200 with 4GBs of ram. Exactly what high end gaming do you think he'll be doing?

Will consider R9 280x

Perhaps, but I really think that card is much to much for your system. Again, lower end quad and 4GBs of ram. Add in possible compatibility issues and the 200W+ power draw and the 280 is too much for that system.

what is the use of LGA 771 Xeon?

Some people see Xeon and think it's just plain better. You already have a CPU, I'd buy a cheap GPU and call it a day. If you were buying many parts for this PC I'd tell you to hold off and get something newer. S775 is dead. Socket is ~4 generations old now. Even a Core i3 would be faster, and...

Depends on your budget. An R9 280x would be good, it costs a little less than 100€ on ebay.
What's the rest of your system ? Get at least 6-8 gigs of ram. If your motherboard is compatible with DDR2, you should get some, it's dirt cheap. You should also get a 10€ LGA 771 Xeon, it's very powerful but must be modded to fit in your motherboard.

Considering the age of the machine I don't think I'd get any of the newer cards mentioned. It's also a lower end Quad with a cheap/low end board so you won't be OCing it very much. GTS250 or GTS450 would be good choices, maybe a GTX460 if you feel like bottlenecking the GPU a bit. 7750, or 7770 for an AMD GPU.

I currently have 4 GB of DDR3 memory. Will consider R9 280x while buying . BTW, what is the use of LGA 771 Xeon?

Normally LGA771 Xeons are processors made for servers and workstations, but people found an unconventional way to mod it so it can work on LGA775 consumer grade motherboards. These Xeons are really worth buying because of their amazing price/performance.

And bottleneck the crap out of it, aside from the fact his PSU likely can't even nearly handle it. Oh and a PCIe 1.1 slot which may not even work with it.

Just no.
