Sometimes, RAM is listed that it's Intel or AMD only, simply because it was pulled from that kind of system - and the seller doesn't know better.

Other times, it's a voltage issue. AMD's IMC can support RAM at higher voltage (like 1.8V) whereas Intel's cannot..... it's more like 1.5V, a little higher on some older chips I believe. I think the max is 1.65V that can be put through an older Intel board before you end up frying pins etc. The one you linked is 1.8V, so a bad idea on an Intel board.

As a side note, your board supports a max 4GB across 4 DIMM slots. That's likely 4x1GB, but occassionally a 2x2GB kit will work (but you certainly won't be running 6GB on it)http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-EP31-DS3L-rev-20#sp...

I'd ;look to something like this:http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Adata-4GB-4X-1GB-DDR2-PC2-6400U-800MHz-240PIN-DIMM-RAM-Desktop-Memory-Intel-CPU-/262513831609?hash=item3d1f0b2eb9:g:M00AAOSwkl5XfgkA

Just updated my post, I wouldn't.

Look to a 4x1GB kit. I believe officially DDR2 was 1.8V (which AMD adopted), but Intel ran at a lower voltages. I'd avoid "AMD only" kits. While in theory they should work, in my experience, more often than not, they don't.

If you find one "intel only" or "pulled from an Intel system", you should be ok.
