I have a blue snowball microphone that I've used for a few years. A couple months ago I updated to windows 10 and around this time I noticed that the mic doesn't work well anymore. Whenever I turn on the computer get logged in, the mic stops working. If I turn on the "listen to this device setting" and restart the computer, I can hear my voice through the mic on the login screen and up until all of my programs load up. Right when I hear the skype sound from logging in, the mic cuts out. I don't know if it's skype or what, though. Skype, Rainmeter, Steam, Razer synapse, Nvidia Geforce Experience, and probably some other stuff all load at the exact same time.

I don't know if it's windows 10 that's causing issues, or one of my programs. I've tried updating the drivers but that hasn't helped, either.

Pull up device manager and go to usb devices. First try right clicking on your mic device and select update driver software. If you can't find that device, Unplug the mic then you should see the device disappear. When you plug it back in, you should see the device come back. If the update doesn't work, right click on that device and select uninstall. Then unplug it again and plug it back in and the drivers should automatically install. If they don't go to the top of device manager, right click on your computer name and select "scan for hardware changes". It should detect the device and start installing the software.

I've tried that a few times over the past few months but it's never worked. Afterwards I always do the "check for driver updates" option to make sure it installed and it does.
