Msi G695m. I put 6gb of memory but 3.25 is what I'm always getting even if i swap it

Sounds like you have a 32 bit version of Windows installed. Is that correct?
If so, you need a 64 bit version to use more than 4GB of memory. That means a full install of Windows.
You can't upgrade from any 32 bit version to any 64 bit version of Windows.
