I just installed my new corsair vengeance Pro 1866 2x8GB RAM. However after booting up I find that Cpu-Z shows my RAM speed as 933,5. I know this means it's 1866 due to having two RAM sticks. My problem is when I open task manager it displays my RAM as 1333 and when I do a cmd command to display RAM speeds it also says it's running at 1333. Is cpu-z displaying right? I have been through the bios many times and triple checked the settings for the RAM. And the RAM is definitely compatible with my Mobo. Is windows just buggy? Should I just trust the information being displayed by Cpu-Z?

Thanks

It's not due to 2 sticks. 2 sticks is dual channel and that's completely different from DDR or double data rate. DDR moves information on both edges of the clock cycle meaning the effective speed is double the actual speed. RAM is marketed at effective speed or data rate not actual clock speed. So when you buy DDR3 1866 it runs at 933Mhz which is what CPU-Z reads.

Trust CPU-Z over task manager. CPU-Z under the memory tab and BIOS will be correct.

I checked and its set to be at 1866 but what I didn't notice was that at the top right hand corner in my bios it says "RAM: 1866mhz" so do you think I should just ignore what task manager is telling me? Thanks for the reply.
