I am planning to upgrade my current build to 8gb ddr4 ram, gtx 1060 3gb and i5 6400 or i5 6500, which mobo should i choose if i'm in a tight budget and also requires high performance, also is i5 6500 worth the price increase from 6400 or should i go for i5 6400 ?

Got the i5 6500, because the higher frequency.
For the MB, get the msi b150, you will have the USB3.1 and more USB ports, more fan_headers, and 4 memory slots.
